Terms of service
Last updated 21 September 2026
These terms cover design and development work carried out by ke1ev. Where a signed proposal or contract for a specific project says something different, that document takes precedence over this page.
Quotes and scope
I quote a fixed price for a written scope. The quote holds for 30 days. If you want something outside the agreed scope once work is underway, I will tell you what it changes about the price and timeline, and wait for you to approve it in writing before continuing.
Payment
- A 50% deposit is invoiced on approval of the quote. Work begins when it clears.
- The balance is invoiced at launch and is payable within 14 days.
- All amounts are in USD. Sales tax is added where applicable, calculated from your billing address.
- Invoices unpaid 14 days past due may pause work until they are settled.
What I need from you
Projects stall on content more than anything else. You are responsible for supplying text, images, and any accounts or access I need, and for holding the rights to whatever you give me. If a project goes quiet on your end for more than 60 days, I may invoice for the work completed and close it out.
Revisions
Each project includes two rounds of revisions on the agreed scope. Further rounds are quoted separately. Fixing something that does not match the agreed scope is not a revision — that is my error, and I correct it at no charge.
Ownership
On receipt of final payment, you own the design and the code I produced for you outright. Until then I retain ownership of the work in progress. Third-party components — open-source libraries, licensed fonts — remain under their own licences, and I will tell you what those are. I keep the right to show the finished work in my portfolio unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Cancellation
Either of us can end a project in writing at any time. See the refunds and cancellation policy for what happens to money already paid.
Warranty and liability
I will fix defects in my own work free of charge for 30 days after launch. Beyond that, the work is provided as it stands. I am not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost revenue, lost data, lost business — and my total liability for any project is limited to the amount you paid me for it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
Hosting and third parties
Sites I build usually run on infrastructure you own and pay for directly. I am not responsible for outages, price changes, or policy changes at those providers, though I will help you deal with them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of California, United States.
